T.J. Gilpin is a 1st degree black belt who began studying Martial Arts under Master Wiley at the age of 13. Upon his graduation from Nelson County High School, he took time off to attend college at the University of Kentucky where he earned his Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering. Since joining Y-Lee's, T.J. has competed in several tournaments where he was successful in winning numerous trophies, competing in such events as free sparring, forms competition, and board breaking. As a black belt, he shares his knowledge and experience with the class in hopes of helping them in their training to earn their black belts.  He just tested on December 6, 2003 and received his 2nd degree.
